Dogs want to behave. They love it when they see the approval in your eyes that tells them they're acting the way they should be acted. Dogs are pack animals, and pack animals want to feel accepted, confident, and understood. If your dog isn't behaving the way you want or expected to your dog to behave, there is a chance that the problem is that it simply needs the right guidance.

That is why we are happy to offer Oak Brook dog training, led by Marc Goldberg and his partner Patrick Farrell. Our dog training programs are here to assist your dog with both basic behavioral changes and more difficult challenges.

After studying animal behavior for many years, Marc Goldberg wrote one of the premier books on dog training that has changed the way that many trainers approach teaching canine behaviors to people and pets. Based in the Chicago area, Marc has since offered his dog training services to families and individuals across Oak Brook, IL. He and his team would love to help address your dog’s needs.

If you’re ready to get started with an Oak Brook dog trainer, call today at 1-224-407-2131 or complete the form on our site for our free behavioral consultation.

What Training Programs Do We Offer?

For Oak Brook dog training, we offer several different types of programs to assist you and your dog with behavioral changes. With our Pack Leader Programs, we are able to show you and your dog how to:

  • Respond to its name.
  • Walk on a leash.
  • Stay off of furniture.
  • Avoid digging in the backyard.
  • Stay out of the trash, and more.

These are all the behaviors that help your dog become part of the family, and the approach we use is one that will help continue the bond that you create with your furry friend. Marc or Patrick will work with your dog on the issues and behavious that it struggles with most using private sessions at our Little Dog Farm, and we'll also train you on how to continue with the improvements that you see from your pet at home - as well as how to use those strategies on other behavioral issues.

What About Aggression, Anxiety, or if I Don't Have Time to Train Myself?

We also know that sometimes you need help, either because you do not trust yourself to perform the training correctly, or because the behavioral issue is more significant and requires a caring and experienced hand. If that describes your situation, we have boarding school dog training programs that are perfect for those in Oak Brook.

With these boarding school programs, you can drop off your pet for 1, 2, or 3 weeks, and we’ll work on laying the training ground work. Our one week programs are great for teaching your dog basic behaviors. Our two week program helps your dog ace tohse behaviors and provides free follow ups if your dog reverts back to any old actions. Our three week program is for Oak Park families whose dogs struggle with aggression and anxiety - or any other severe behavioral issues.

No matter which program you choose, on the last day, you and your family come visit and we train you on the techniques to take home with you. Your dog becomes the member of the pack it wants to be, and you have a well behaved dog ready to contribute more appropraitely without forgetting to be a dog.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
