Your dog is a member of your family. But like any family member, there are sometimes behavioral issues that require some help.

Marc Goldberg of Chicago Dog Trainer, along with the Monks of New Skete, quite literally wrote the book on force-free dog training. His methodology is used throughout the US by some of the leading dog trainers. It utilizes the natural connections between dogs and humans to train dogs out of unwanted behaviors, and into the ones that are most productive for your family. If you are in need of an Evanston dog trainer, give us a call today at 1-224-407-2131.

Why Call a Dog Trainer in Evanston, IL?

Dogs are pack animals. They want to be loved and accepted. They want you to appreciate everything that we do. Your dog wants to be the best family member it can be. It is looking to be a productive member of the pack, and when it misbehaves it is not just "because it is a dog." It is because it doesn't understand what you need, or it simply doesn’t yet know how to behave the way you expect.

By working with an Evanston dog trainer, you can help learn how to make sure that it shows the family-friendly behaviors that you hope to see from your family pet. Marc Goldberg, and his partner Patrick Farrell, use the most effective dog training techniques to make sure that your dog not only behaves the way you want it to behave, but also feels a stronger connection with its owner in the process.

What We Offer - Our Dog Training Services in Evanston

Chicago Dog Trainer has two different types of services. The most commonly requested service is our Pack Leader Program, a variation of traditional dog training services. We offer this program for both puppies and adult dogs, where we train your dog and train you on how to perform the behaviors and techniques. Many of our low cost training programs are perfect for teaching dogs – and their owners – how to control important behavioral issues, such as:

  • Chewing
  • Housetraining
  • Walking on a Leash, and More

Our dog trainers work directly with you and your pet to show them, rather than force them or bribe them, to become better trained pets. By the time they're done with our one on one program, you and your dog will have what you need to work together on behaving in the house.

Our Boarding School Dog Training Services

We also provide dog bootcamp for Evanston, where we provide boarding and training for your dog to teach it the proper behaviors ourselves before turning the leash over to you (both literally and figuratively) so that you can continue progress at home. Send your dog away to us for training, and come back with a fully trained pet depending on the program.

We have three different options for this type of bootcamp, a 7 day, 14 day, and 21 day program.

The 7 day Evanston doggy boarding school program lays the groundwork for most common household behaviors, like walking on a leash, stopping nipping behaviors, reducing jumping, and more. Our 14 day program goes a step further, giving you a perfectly trained dog upon completion. And our 21 day program is for dogs that have more advanced issues - for example, a dog that may struggle with severe anxiety or aggression.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
