Dogs are wonderful companions. But as animals, they sometimes need a little bit of extra support so that they can become contributing members to the family. That is why it is often important to consider a dog trainer.

There are many different ways to train a dog. Our Schaumburg dog trainers are focused on the techniques that make the most sense both for you and your pet. That is why we implement a ForceFree method that Chicago and Schaumburg dog trainer Marc Goldberg wrote about in his highly regarded book, “Let Dogs Be Dogs.”

Marc and his partner Patrick provide gentle strategies that work with your dogs’ emotions and instinct to decide how to behave, rather than initiating any force or using training methods that tend to not work as effectively in the outside world. For more information about our dog training services, call us today at 224-407-2131.

Our Dog Training Services in Schaumburg, IL

Dogs must be oriented into the family just as any other member would be. Proper and efficient training can make this process much easier. Our dogs simply want to be loved and included in the family. They just need to be guided in the right direction.

Our experienced and professional trainers, Marc Goldberg and Patrick Farrell, will be able to train your dog in a gentle, and long lasting way. We will also be able to teach you the tips and tricks to maintain this type of training and ensure progress. Some of the behaviors that we can address include, but are not limited to:

  • Pulling on Leash - We can make sure that your dog is behaving well whenever you both go out for walks. There shouldn’t be a need to worry about your dog getting distracted on a walk or unnecessary pulling on the leash.
  • Barking at Others - Our trainers can help you teach your dog how to maintain control when both dogs and people walk by, with limited barking or other unwanted aggression/anxiety.
  • Chewing on Household Items - It is extremely important to keep our dogs from destroying and ruining our household furniture and items. Our dog trainers will show you how to address chewing and destructive behaviors.
  • Listening to Commands - We use force-free methods that will help your dog respond to its name and obey certain commands. Selective hearing can hinder a lot of training so it is important that your dog responds to commands well.
  • Polite Manners - It is important that our dog respects when guests come over and they don’t jump erratically. We can also help your dog understand when it is okay to eat.
  • Potty Practices - We all know how much of a hassle it can be to clean up after accidents our dogs make. Fixing this issue is a priority of many dog owners and we are sure to help fix the situation and teach your dog to ask to go to the bathroom.

These are only a few of the many behaviors we can address in our dog training in Schaumburg, IL. We can also customize the program to fit you and your dog’s needs and address even more complex behaviors, including anxiety and aggression. Our priority is to make sure you and your dog can have a mutually beneficial relationship.

Basic Behavioral Training for Dogs Both Old and New

Some dogs jump. Others pull on their leash. Others get into the trash or have accidents inside of the home. These behavioral challenges are usually the result of a dog that hasn’t yet learned what it means to be a family member, as well as family members that haven’t yet learned to teach their dog how to adapt.

We have several dog training programs in Schaumburg to address these issues. Our pack leader programs are designed for dogs of all breed types, along with their human families, to learn how to use only the most caring techniques to effectively train your pet.

For those that would like us to lay the groundwork, our 7 Day Amazing Dog boarding school is a great start, as we’ll start training your dog on our own for 6 days, and on the 7th day we train you, too. We also have more advanced dog boot camp available for those that need it.

Our Pack Leader Programs

The first step in a dog’s training is crucial as it acts as a baseline for future training and learning. We have designed our programs to address your dog’s needs and train them with proper techniques.

The ForceFree method uses no punishments and requires no treats. We teach your dog in a polite manner that focuses on building a connection between the dog and human. The purpose behind this method is to act on your dog’s natural instinct to want to please its “pack” and form trust with its owner to learn new behaviors.

We offer two options of training to get you and your dog started:

  • Pack Leader Program - This program will address simple problems and make quick progress in the 2-hour session your dog will be with us. It includes a 1-hour check-in within the 6 months after the initial session occurs. This program starts at $349 for the first dog, $249 for the next, and $149 for each additional dog.
  • Puppy Pack Leader Program - This 2-hour program is intended for dogs 8 to 16 weeks old. Here, we train puppies to become a part of your family and teach them the best behaviors to prevent them from nipping, destroying household furniture, and sleeping restlessly during the night. The pricing starts at $349 for the first puppy, $249 for the second, and $149 for all after that.

These programs are great to help you get started and understand how to train your dog using no force or bribery. Our goal is to build a strong connection between you, the owner, and your dog so that trust is formed and you both can have a mutually loving and respectful relationship.

We also understand how busy people can be, and so we offer our pack leader programs to be done over video through apps such as FaceTime, Skype, and Whatsapp. This service is beneficial for those who require quick fixes to behavior issues or they are pressed for time.

Our Philosophy & Goals

Our philosophy is simple. Improve the life of both dog and family. All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog.

Our mission is simple. Make both dog and family happy.

What does is take to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership and attention.

Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released

Families also want their dogs:

  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew  inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention
